The BEL Vector 955 High Performance Radar Detector is the ultimate choice for every motorist. The detector seems to work wonderfully, in all ranges. In my 1000 miles or so of experience, I have seen everything except POP. This detector has a lot of features and a good range. I have tested the range with known speed traps and can even pick up the automated radar units that sit by the road so you know your speed vs. the posted limit.

Ka band readings seem to have almost zero false alarms - it seems to go off only when I am approaching a radar-patrolled area. It alerts the driver somewhere between 1 and two miles ahead of where the actual radar is being used, which is plenty of room to slow down. Overall the 955 is a great detector that has only fewer features, not less range, than its more expensive detectors. More importantly, the range on the 955 is spectacular as compared to the price.
