How Radar Detectors Work?
Radar gun's used by law enforcement share common frequencies of radar that are used to measure the speed of a vehicle. A radar detector "listens" for these frequencies. When the officer's radar gun is detected, it sounds a warning signal and flashes lights. These lights and sound vary for the type of radar detected. Radar Detectors will hopefully give you enough time to check your speed before the officer has a chance to clock your movement.
Some natural and man-made elements may hurt the chances of a good radar signal, or they may give false alarms. For example, motion sensors that open grocery store doors often fool your radar detector into giving false alarms.
Radar Detectors do not give you permission to speed. Radar Detectors do not allow you to speed without fear of being given a speeding ticket. Officers are trained to use there Radar guns to help catch speeders with Radar Detectors. Above and beyond the law, speeding is dangerous and can cause fatal accidents. So, please help keep our highways safe.
